Kelsy has had a very busy week with the approach of school's end.
Thursday morning, her dad, Petey and I were able to attend the Kindergarten's Author's Celebration. Her class compiled a collection of short stories which each has written and they took turns reading their story with Mrs. Markham, their teacher. Each child wrote about their favorite pair of shoes. Kelsy choose to write about a pair of pink flip flops...which she doesn't own?! When I asked her about the flip flops she quickly explained "Mom, its just a story." {In her most "duh" type voice} But she further explained that she likes to wear them to the beach. This would be true because my daughter is definitely a beach bum! Afterwards, we joined the class for Krispy Kreme donuts and juice. Yum!
Below is a picture of Kelsy and Ms. Fox, the class' teacher assistant {or known to Kelsy's world has her BFF!} I'm so very grateful that Ms. Fox was placed in Kelsy's life. She's made her transition to school wonderful and has brought so much joy into her little life. Kelsy writes notes of love, makes bracelets, and takes flowers to Katie...we even picked out BFF bracelets, yes, the ones you remember from your childhood, for her to take to school tomorrow. After talking with Ms. Fox on Thursday, we've decided to arrange for some BFF dates so that Kelsy doesn't go through a serious withdrawal from seeing Ms. Fox daily.
As you might have noticed, Kelsy's hair was curly...this was in preparation for her dance recital rehearsal Thursday night....Geez, is momma glad Thursday is over! She was so adorable! She performed a Tap routine to Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes. She absolutely LOVES performing on stage! Hopefully, I can upload the video for posting soon. {one thing at a time...sigh}
We were very grateful t
Now....our final event for the week!!! Kelsy has been talking about donating her hair to Locks of Love. Especially since Granddaddy has been diagnosed with cancer. However, her only condition was that she wait until after her dance recital so she could have curls. Well, she did it! 9 inches gone! The salon didn't know if L.O.L. would take that length, however, they informed me that a woman will take donations and is making wigs for children with cancer right here at CHKD Hospital. So, tomorrow morning I'll be calling to get the information! Isn't her hair just too cute?!
What an amazing daughter we have!

Yes, very cute... all the way through!
I'm so glad you're NOT donating to Locks for Love... from what i've learned, they are not free wigs for those that need them... sounds like the local donation will be AWESOME! What a sweetie!
I didnt realize or know that is why kelsey cut her hair. I just thought it was a super cute cut and perfect for the summer. I am such a fan on donating you know. I have done it a couple of times so far. Good for her!!!
