We spent much time in the car striving to find the Denver, Colorado temple. When I googled the address, I got the wrong temple (not an LDS one) and landed us in a not so hot part of town. However, because of my mistake, we got to see Mile High Stadium where the Denver Broncos play.
And yes, we did make it to the temple... but I was a little disappointed. The DC Temple is lit up at night and, although I noticed it was equipped for it, the Denver Temple was not. :( Oh well. Its beautiful either way! Shoot, what temple isn't gorgeous?!
We headed for downtown Denver where we spent most of the evening at the 16th Street Mall. They've completely shut one street off and have built sidewalks and courtyards with shops along it that runs a least 4 blocks. We were able to see a spray paint artist, bagpipes, and a cultural chant...not exactly sure what culture, but cool all the same! Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures because I thought I had left the camera in the car. Only to find out that when we sat down for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe, it had been in my purse the whole time! DANG IT! Just another....oh well.
On Sunday, we attended church with the 17th Ward. This was the ward where Josh was a greenie and then returned later in his mission to serve there again. And what a pleasant surprise...its also the ward my friend, Chancy, attends!
After church, we were invited over for dinner with a family Josh has great memories of. The Grissoms are amazing! This is Sis. Grissom and her daughter, Fayra (she wasn't too excited about the pic...hehe). Unfortunately, we found out that Bro. Grissom had passed very unexpectedly in 2004, however, Sis. Grissom is just as lively and wonderful as Josh remembers. Fayra and I really hit it off, Sis. Grissom swears we're kindred spirits from before. They even offered for Josh to stay with them if/when he goes back out for the interview.
Not all of Sunday was as enjoyable. Upon returning to our hotel and watching a little news, we found out that 1800 flights out of Atlanta had been canceled for Monday....this included ours! Although, Josh welcomes the opportunity to be in Colorado for an extended period of time, we were very ready to be reunited with our kiddies and they with us! So, much stress and tension occurred for a period of the night as we spoke with the airline, hotel, and car rental and made plans to return home at the earliest time, Tuesday.
Monday was spent having a lazy morning, traveling to Castle Rock Outlets {oh, yes! Outlets less than 30 minutes from Springs!} While there we looked for some snow appropriate shoes for me {guess flip flops don't cut it}. No luck with the shoes but Josh got hooked up with an amazing deal on a Snowboard Jacket {less than $50 for a $260 jacket! Score!} And he says he hates shopping! Then off to a movie and back to the hotel to pack!!!
It took over 13 hours to get home on Tuesday but we made it! And now the anticipation of an email from Springs Fire Dept. to let us know about the interview. {by next weekend, I'll either have a super excited hubby or a very depressed hubby}

I must have missed it - what was the reason for the trip? You mention Josh might go back there for an interview, so is this a job possibility that you may relocate for?
It looks like you guys had a lovely trip! It's so nice to get those little getaways together now and again.
Nice update. Thank you!
