My friend, Maria, came across a dachshund in need. His owner had rescued him from the SPCA. However, since he is in the navy and going to school, poor thing was spending most of the day in his crate. So, he decided to give him back. Well, the SPCA said that they would put him to sleep if he came back and we can't have that!!! Maria already has several dogs of her own and since he's an adorable dachshund like Buster...we're giving it a try!
Dante {not the name we'd choose but hey, he's 6, not gonna change it now} came to us today. He's neutered, up to date with shots for the next 3 years, leash, collar, bowls, and a 15 lb. bag of dog food. Dante is little compared to Buster and they're getting to know each other, but overall, I'd have to say they're getting along well.
Kelsy loves Dante...and Josh took him being here very well since he didn't know about him til he got home from work today! His question: Are you into the business of rescuing dogs now? Nope, but when they need a place, are set for a few years medically, and are already crate trained and house broken...what the heck!

Lucky dog to get a good home with attention and care. It will be interesting to see if he allows Petey to play with him as he plays with Buster. Buster is amazing, how he tolerates-even loves, our 18 mo old.
So cool! So THIS is the dog Mimi mentioned to Ria in an email a bit back. I need to check blogs more! ^_^
