The Newest Farrell Has Arrived!!!

After several weeks of contractions and a very stubborn baby, I went into active labor Thursday evening. At 5:30 Friday morning the contractions were too painful and I had begun bleeding so Josh and I headed to the hospital. When we arrived I was dilated 6 cm. By the time I received an IV and some fluids, I decided to get an epidural...I know, I 'm all about doing this naturally but wow, I was in pain! So, they examined me, broke my water and I was 8cm. The nurse anesthetist inserted the epidural and gave the initial dose. Before they could hook up the pump, I had the urge to push. Petey was born at 8:59 am weighing 9 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long. Because I didn't use the extra meds, recovery was quick. Within an hour, I was up and walking. So, no, Evelyn, I didn't have a c-section which I am grateful for but delivery was definitely not a walk in the park!!!

I'm pretty tired right now so I'll post more pics tomorrow...
