First: M
y FlowerbedsI was excited when we bought the house that it already had them. But, if you saw the house when we bought it, you know it had a lot of work to be done. Well, over the past year, this is what one of my beds now looks like. The picture really doesn't do it justice!! There are eleven plants in this bed and I have actually managed to keep them alive!!! Four of these plants are perennials that returned from last year!
Second: My Cucumber Plants

Kelsy came home from school one day in March and told me they were sprouting seeds. She asked if we could and I hesitated. I had never gardened or even sprouted a seed before. So with the help of Ms. Sherry, we started our first vegetable garden. I figure since I'm going to have a little more time on my hands come June, I can try something new! I check on them about every other day and Josh probably thought I lost my mind yesterday! I went outside and found my first cucumber!!! It's only about 3 inches long right now but hey, it's gotta start somewhere!
And here's my last for right now, (Kids are getting up from naps!)Third: Filipino Cooking
My little bro
ther comes home from his mission in the Philippines in October so Mom and I wanted to learn how to make a few dishes. Luckily, a sister in the ward and a good friend, Michelle Rosario, taught an enrichment activity last week. Michelle is from the Philippines and she taught us how to make lumpia and pancit. Its one thing to watch someone make it and something totally different to try it by yourself at home. So I ventured out. Last week I made my family
pancit and lumpia for dinner! Much to my surprise, both of the kids loved it! A dish that doesn't consist of macaroni and cheese or pb and j! I'm sure I could tweak it some but hey, it was edible and I might add, yummy!
